DANTE'S NEW DIGS

Dante's out back digging in his digs.  Here "digs" refers to his informal outdoor lodgings, of course.

Dante thinks his "digs" need some renovation, apparently.

So, he's hard at work digging in.

"Sometime I wondah wot on earth I'm doin'", says Dante.

"But den I realizes dat anyfing worthwhile takes hard work an' lotsa time an' effurt."

"So I has dediCATid myself to da task-at-paw."

"Dere's no lookin' back now!"

"So instead I'm lookin' forward ...

... ta diggin' my new digs fur a long time ta come."

"Ahhhh -- dat's bettah!"

DANTE: SHADOWS & LIGHT

Early in the evening as the sun is setting, the light and shadow effect that it has on Dante is quite striking!

And, I think it is enhanced even more by this watercolour effect as each variance in shade is somehow accentuated.  Of course, Dante enhances any picture simply by being in it, n'est-ce-PAW?

DANTE AU NATUREL

Nowhere does Dante look more natural than when he's with nature.

He just seems so relaxed ...

... and at peace with the world in general!

DANTE'S TREE TRAGEDY: ASHES TO ASHES

Dante is in the back yard and he's feeling quite sad.

"I has lost wunna my best furiends", says he.

"Dis is our frunt gardin.  In da center is my most fafurite tree, named ASH.  It giffs a lotta shade and is great fur scratchin'.  Squirrels used ta run up and down da tree trunk, an' birdies purrched on its branches."

"Two weeks ago, dis happined!  Mama said dat ASH had ta be cut down becuz ash bores wuz killin' it.  I didunt know a tree cud ackshully die of boredom -- but it did.  An' now it is firewood, so ashes ta ashes, it is."

"Rite now, I cant stand to see da frunt gardin, so I'm doin' all my mornin' heer in da back yard."

"I am tryin' ta transFUR my affeckshuns to dis crabapple tree, but it's no ASH."

"I figure we'll get closer an' closer ...

... as time goes on, doe."

"But ASH will stay in my heart and mind, FURever!"

RIP ASH

DANTE, FULL OF WONDER!

Not only is Dante wonderful, but he is full of wonder about the world around him.

His focused stare reaches far and misses nothing.

He also likes to focus in on Mom while she focuses in on him with her camera!

Sometimes wondering is a bit of a stretch!

But, for the most part, it's just a relaxing speCATor sport ...

... for as far as the "I" can see!

DANTE: HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!

Dante loves to sit in his basket chair on the front porch and hang his head over the edge.

It's kinda fun to see the world from a different PURRspective.

But then the blood rushes to his head and ...

... he realizes there are certain advantages to keeping your head up.

After all he'd rather put his head to good use ...

... especially when dinner's in the offing!

"Get off my head an' into my mouth, mouse!!!"

DANTE IS TUNG FU KITTY!

Dante has a two-sided PURRSonality.  When he wears his 'Kung Fu' outfit, he can be peaceful or become a warrior.  'Kung Fu' does not just refer to fighting, but to attaining a high level of skill in one's area of training -- whatever that may be.

Dante is a 'Kung Fu' master in two areas of endeavour:  gardening and martial arts.

Here is Dante, being very zen, while practising his Kung Fu skills in gardening.

And here he is in his opposite PURRSona as a 'Kung Fu' fighter.

He has developed his fighting skills in one PURRticular area.  Dante's aim is to defend justice through furball discipline, i.e., the feline version of verbal discipline -- and that's why we call him "Tung Fu Kitty"!

Go Dante Go!

DAPPURR DAPPLED DANTE

In our back yard we have two mature trees; one is a crabapple and the other's a Sunset maple.  Over the years they have spread so much that nothing on the ground beneath will grow.  So we have put mulch down in this area, which Dante just loves.  It's almost like his own little forest!

Even on the sunniest day, only little patches of light peek through the branches of the trees, which gives both the earth, and Dante, a dappled effect.

Talk about your Day-Glo orange!!!
